JUNE / JULY GRADINGS

We have grown so much in 2026 that we can't grade everybody who will be ready on the same day. Therefore there are actually two gradings coming up. For those who are unfamiliar with the term, a "grading" is simply an exam a martial arts student does to test for their next level belt.

Our gradings are by invitation only, so you will be informed if you or your child is ready to grade. We watch everyone carefully and make sure that a student going into a grading has satisfactorily performed all the techniques for that grading in class. For Tigers and Dragons, we show this with the stripe system. Once a child has a stripe for every item on their belt level they are ready to grade.

All group gradings are held at our Ingleburn branch.

Saturday 20th June — 11am to 3pm

This grading will be mostly for our Tiny Tigers students.

Saturday 4th July — 11am to 3pm

This grading will be mostly for Daring Dragons and Teens & Adults.

Gradings are done in small groups of up to 4 students at a time who are ideally all on the same belt, in a 30 minute time slot.

The grading fee is $50 per student, payable in advance by EFT. Your booking will not be confirmed until payment has been received.

If you can't make either of these days and times, then private gradings can still be done at Bardia on other days for an additional $15. (So $65 total)

Bookings are essential! You cannot grade without a confirmed booking, and your booking must be confirmed and paid for at least 7 days before your grading date. If you're not sure whether you or your kid(s) are ready to grade, Sifu will let you know.

WHITE BELT RECYCLING

If you're grading for a yellow belt, don't just throw the old white belt in the bin. If you don't want to keep it as a memento, please consider bringing it back to us instead. We'll clean it up and pass it on to a new student who needs one. No point in wasting it.

LONG SLEEVE TRAINING T-SHIRTS

Winter is here, and we're planning a limited run of long sleeve versions of our school t-shirt. If you'd like one, please let us know as soon as possible. We have a print run scheduled for early June, so they should be ready to pick up by mid to late June. Numbers will be limited, so don't leave it too long to put your hand up.

ONLINE STUDENT PORTAL — UPDATES & CONTENT

A few things have been updated on the members portal that are worth knowing about.

All previous grading sheets are now available to view and download through your portal account. All previous certificates have also been upgraded and are now available to view and download as well. The new certificates carry the official seals of Sifu and the logo of our branch of the Chau Ga Kung Fu system. They look a lot more traditionally authentic than the old ones. Your old certificates are of course still completely valid — we just think the new ones are cooler. Check it out!!

We do want to apologise for not yet having the updated Daring Dragons content fully uploaded, or the Teens & Adults content live yet. It's a significant investment of time to plan, film, edit, and process everything to the standard we want, and other things keep jumping the queue. We are working on it and we'll get there.

If you've forgotten your login credentials, just ask Sifu and he'll sort you out.

CLASS SIZE CHANGES

Bardia — All Classes

We are reducing the maximum class size at Bardia from 9 students to 8. We've found that when 10 or more people turn up there simply isn't enough space to run the class safely and effectively. This makes it even more important to book your spot in advance.

Ingleburn — Tiny Tigers

We are also reducing the maximum class size for the Tiny Tigers classes at Ingleburn from 20 students down to 10. With younger kids it's important that we can keep a close eye on everyone at all times, and that's harder to do as the numbers climb. Safety and proper monitoring of the little ones has to come first.

REMEMBER TO BOOK YOUR CLASSES

Please remember to use the booking page on our website to secure your spot before you come in, especially at Bardia where space is limited. If you show up without a booking there's a chance we may not be able to accommodate you.
